Our FREE after school classes introduce children to various forms of art while encouraging creative thinking in a fun and safe environment. Taught by local artists, musicians, and educators, classes are designed to build self-confidence while contributing to artistic skills, leadership development, better academic performance and barrier breaking.
Art After School is held weekly during the school year in six rural school districts, three private schools, and two community centers in Fayette and Colorado county. All materials are provided. In order to keep the program going, and offered FREE to all participants, we are accepting sponsorship funds.
Note: Early registration is advised.
For a schedule and full list of participating schools, please check back at a later date.
ARTS has created a program to help entertain, educate, & unite our children, families and communities.
We invite the youth, ages 5 – 18, to develop some creative pieces and to share them. This may be a drawing, a painting, a clay piece, a poem, a photograph, a video, music, a short performance, a science experiment.
“Music is like painting in sound. You take it into your inner heart and never lose it. It’s eternally mysterious.” - Van Cliburn
Since time and expense prohibit transporting regional children to metropolitan areas, ARTS brings performing artists to our rural communities! These FREE performances give children a front-row seat and a backstage pass to world-class fine arts experiences.
Recent performances include Houston Grand Opera to Go, Ballet Austin, the UH Concert Chorale, Great Promise for American Indians, and professional storyteller Bernadette Nason.
Are you interested in performing for our Fine Art Assemblies Program?
