ARTS’ free after school classes introduce children to various forms of art while encouraging creative thinking in a fun and safe environment. Taught by local artists, musicians, and educators, classes are designed to build self-confidence while contributing to artistic skills, leadership development, better academic performance, and barrier-breaking.


About the Program

Enrollment Requirements

Students grades 1st- 12th may register for Art After School classes. The program is open to public, private, and home schooled students, so that every child has an opportunity to explore art. Art After School classes are always offered at no cost to parents or schools; no registration fee is required. This program is very popular, so early enrollment is advised.

Class Topics

ARTS’ Art After School program offers different art styles and subjects for your child to explore, such as: acrylic painting, watercolor painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, digital art, fiber and needle felting, gardening, storybook art, sensory and tactile projects, and principles of art and design.

Locations

Art After School is held weekly during the school year in the following locations: Columbus, Fayetteville, Flatonia, La Grange, Round Top- Carmine, Schulenburg, Sheridan, Waelder, and Weimar.

  • Fayetteville ARTS Annex: 4pm - 5pm - September 3 - November 21

  • Schulenburg ARTS Campus: 4pm - 5pm - September 3 - November 21

  • Schulenburg Homeschool Class: 12pm - 1pm - September 3 - November 19

  • La Grange Elementary: 3:45pm - 4:45pm - September 3 - November 21

  • Sacred Heart La Grange: 3:45pm - 4:45pm - September 3 - November 21

  • St. Michael Weimar: 3:30pm - 4:30pm - September 3 - November 21

  • Weimar Elementary: 4pm - 5pm - September 16 - November 20

  • Flatonia Elementary: 3:30pm - 4:30pm - September 3 - November 20

  • Moulton Elementary: 3:30pm - 4:30pm - September 3 - November 19

Support for Art After School

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) is committed to offering Art After School programming at no cost to families or schools. However, it costs ARTS an average of $100 per student each semester to offer high quality arts enrichment programming. Please consider supporting our program. Art After School Registration

How to Register:

  1. Scroll down to the campus that you would like to register your student at.

  2. Select the day/class from the drop down menu (if there are multiple classes offered at your campus.

  3. Select the quantity for each child you are registering for a class. (If you have more than one child that you are registering for the SAME class, please change the quantity.)

  4. Click the “Add To Cart” button and complete the student registration form that will pop-up.

  5. Finalize your registration by clicking the “Finalize Registration” button. Our classes are offered at no cost to families or schools, but you must check out in order to finalize your registrations.
