Steve Shultz’s Texas Atmospheres opens at Arts for Rural Texas on Saturday, January 14th.The artist is not from Fayetteville, but you would never know it. This Rhode Island resident wholeheartedly adopted Fayetteville as his new hometown. Inspired by the region, he has spent the last year painting and documenting the many images and experiences he has had. The exhibition of Steve Schultz’s work, Texas Atmospheres, captures the beauty and exquisite power of the grand Texas skies along with the charm of historical buildings and the rural countryside.
Your generous donation will help ARTS remove the barrier of access to the arts for children in our rural communities.
ARTS was founded in 2003 by a group of concerned Fayetteville, Texas. residents who recognized that art education was lacking in our rural schools. They understood that any opportunity for our children to learn about and be exposed to the visual and performing arts would only happen if the arts were brought to the local communities.

The ARTS Spectrum Lecture Series has returned!
Our first speaker will be FAIA architect Don Swofford, who will discuss historic Fayetteville, 1970 - 2020.
Don Swofford, FAIA, with over fifty years of experience in the field of Historic Preservation, was a pioneer in that movement. His elevation by the American Institute of Architects to Fellowship was based on his outstanding practice and dedication to Historic Preservation, with particular acknowledgement of his work restoring the Courthouse in Virginia designed by Thomas Jefferson.
In his student years at Texas A&M College of Architecture, his thesis project was a conservation and preservation study for Fayetteville, Texas.
Jon Kucera and his wife Veronica Steffek, immigrants from Moravia to Ellinger-Fayetteville in 1872, are Don’s maternal great grandparents.
Mr. Swofford's lecture will focus on the changes in historic Fayetteville, specifically of the architectural variety, from 1970 through 2020.
As always, the Spectrum Lecture program is free.
However, seating is limited, so please reserve your spot ahead of time.
